Mr. Wittliff presents a discussion of Metadata – What it is, How you get it, What you can do with it, and Why you should care, which includes case examples. There are two types of metadata – application metadata which is the metadata in files structured and encoded to support a particular computer application, and system metadata which is metadata that is stored externally and not embedded in the file. The presentation covers how to properly ask for metadata in litigation through request for production with detailed metadata instructions included in the requests. Mr. Wittliff also includes how to secure information from your client on how and where they store their data and how it is maintained. This webinar includes using metadata with and without expert witnesses, and concludes with taking you through step by step of an exemplar case.
