The 82nd Legislature passed House Bill 274 in 2011, which prompted the Texas Supreme Court to promulgate amendments to four sets of procedural rules. These amendments will go into effect beginning March 1, 2013. These changes to certain Texas Rules of Civil Procedure will aid the Court in providing for “the efficient and uniform administration of justice” as charged by the Texas Constitution. This presentation will discuss the new rules and how they will affect new filings, dismissals, and expedited actions; as well as how it will affect the role of the paralegal.
